A Day to remember for a very long time.....

A day to remember for a very long time and for many different reasons. We started with Anna who accompanied us to discover the 18th century Palazzo Ferri hosting the amazing collection of artworks produced by the famous artist Aligi Sassu. We barely touched the surface so definitely we will be back for more. We then joined Gabriella at her B&B "Ex Albergo Centrale", very nice indeed.. Here we were introduced to the traditional recipe of the Pallotte Cacio e Ove by Amalia who read it in Adruzzese dialect, a very nice surprise. We then followed Gabriella, rolled our sleeves up and start preparing "Li Pallotte". Alittle break half way throguh for a little tasting of local pecorino cheese, salame al pepe, and a glass of local vino. We watched Gabriella whilst she was preparing the tomato sauce in which the Pallotte, the traditional delicious cheese & egg puf balls first deep fried and then cooked for 10/15 minutes in a nice, thick tomato sauce. We finally tasted and thoroughly enjoyed our hard work and we even got to take some home.
What else can i say or add after such another beautiful day like today? A big thank you to Suzanne Dennis, Katie O'Neil, Frances Rodway and Irina Mass for your continue support and for making days like these always so special. A particular huge thank you goes to Anna, Gabriella and Amalia, Atessa is truly a unique gem of a place, but you with your hospitality, warm welcome, and your incredible historic knowledge make this town one of the shinest Jewell in the Abruzzo's Crown, so THANK YOU AGAIN.
