Tour Program

DAY 1

Arrival at Pescara Airport, meet your assistant and transfer to the 4* Hotel Miramare Village right on the beautiful “Costa dei Trabocchi”. After the check in, you will receive your welcome pack and information about the itinerary. Depending on your time of arrival, time to relax and enjoy the beautiful swimming pool. At 8pm dinner with wine at the hotel restaurant.

 

DAY 2

Breakfast; at 9.30 transfer to the beautiful castle of “Roccascalegna”, one of the most iconic images representing Abruzzo. Built on rock spur in the 12th century, Roccascalegna is enveloped in history and legends around the families that controlled the fortress. You will visit the castle and then a stroll in the village to stop for a quick espresso. After the visit, departure to the picturesque town of Atessa and lunch in the historic restaurant Al Duca. Atessa was built on the ridge of the hill looking like is on a “horseback” of the hill, with amazing views over the coast, valley and the mountains. Atessa is rich in history, and very intriguing legends, which you will hear all about it; also visit the Piretti shop and taste their typical liqueur still made according to the original 18th century recipe. Return to the Hotel Miramare and rest of the day and evening free.

 

DAY 3

Breakfast; at 9.30 transfer to the stunning Majella National Park and UNESCO GEOPARK to discover some of the gastronomic excellency of the territory. Visit the picturesque town of Civitella Messer Raimondo and taste some of the local delicacies, the delicious traditional almond cake “Torta di Mandorle Civitellese”, the local charcuterie produced by Giancarlo’s family using the traditional recipe and only genuine natural ingredients. Transfer to Fara San Martino, at the foothills of the mountain, known for its spectacular Gorges, the Green Springs and last but not least “the city of pasta”, since 1867 pasta has been produced here. Walk through the ancient part of the town, the Sorgenti del Verde, visit the De Cecco factory shop with over 250 kind of pasta shapes. Lunch with wine will be at the local restaurant serving traditional menu. In the afternoon return to Hotel Miramare and rest of the day and evening free.

 

DAY 4

Breakfast; today a well-deserved rest day to enjoy the pool or sunbathe on the beautiful quiet beaches just a stone’s throw from your accommodation or few minutes away with the free shuttle bus. Along this part of the coast, you can find secluded little alcoves with fine pebble beaches where to sunbathe and crystal-clear blue waters to dive in. The ancient wooden fishing huts dotted along the coast, The Trabocchi, make even more special this coast creating a unique incredible coastal landscape. Bars and little trattorias offer delicious ice-creams, aperitivi or typical street food. At the hotel Miramare a fantastic bike rental is available for its guests to enjoy the Costa dei Trabocchi on two wheels and find its little secret beaches. In the evening at 8pm dinner at the hotel restaurant.

 

DAY 5

Practical advices


Spring to Autumn trip we recommend you bring factor 30+ sun protection, sun hat, mosquito repellent, beach wear, light jumper/sweater, water proof.
Late Autumn and Winter sensible warm clothing, comfortable walking/trainer shoes necessary for some activities are advisable.

Travel Insurance is not included but required for all our trips, and should be taken out at time of booking. Images used may not reflect your actual tour experience.
