JOIN US ON THE TRAIL OF ONE OF THE BEST WINES IN THE WORLD “MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO”

Arrival at Pescara Airport and meet with your assistant who will give you your welcome pack. Transfer to your accommodation and check in. In the afternoon a fun traditional Abruzzese pasta making workshop followed by dinner with wine.

Breakfast; 9am transfer to the vineyards for a hands-on grape harvest experience. This is a pretty much full-on morning so we recommend comfortable shoes and clothing, sun hat, 30+ sun protection and mosquito repellent. You will be provided with a pair of secateurs, a basket or crate to put the grapes in and be guided on how to cut and choose the best bunches of grapes to harvest. At the end of the morning enjoy a well deserved traditional lunch with typical products and that glass of vino you worked so hard for. Mid-afternoon transfer back to your accommodation and rest of the day free to relax by the pool. At 8pm dinner with wine at the hotel restaurant.

Breakfast;  Today you will visit the “Ciclovia dei Trabocchi”, one of Abruzzo’s most famous landmarks, a beautiful unspoilt coastline with its little coves, dotted with the iconic ancient fishing wooden huts, “Trabocco”. Some of them have been transformed into gourmet fish restaurants and today you will enjoy this unique eating experience. depending on availability at time of booking. After lunch transfer back to the Hotel Miramare Village or take a walk slowly back along the footpath and enjoy a delicious gelato, or sunbathe on the beaches and have a swim in the beautiful crystal-clear blue waters. Rest of the day and evening free for you to enjoy at your leisure.

Breakfast; at 9.30am. Transfer to the city of Lanciano. Walk through its beautifully preserved medieval centre, the Jewish Quarter, the San Francis Church with the first recorded Eucharistic Miracle, the Basilica of the Madonna del Ponte and the roman Diocletian Bridge. Time for a free wander along the high street lined with great shops and bars. Departure to visit a bespoke winery, to taste some of the best Montepulciano D’Abruzzo produced in this area, accompanied by a selection of local products. Return to hotel Miramare and rest of the day free. At 8pm dinner with wine at the hotel restaurant.

Breakfast; at 9.30 transfer to visit the beautiful city of Chieti. Its origins date back to pre-roman times and are still visible today. The visit will start from the Cathedral of Saint Giustino built at the beginning of the 12th century on top of the remains of a pagan temple; continuing along the main high street “Largo Gian Battista Vico” lined with elegant palaces demonstrating Chieti’s aristocratic past; the guided tour will take you to the “Abruzzo National Archaeological Museum” where it will be possible to visit the most iconic image that represent Abruzzo in the World, “The Capestrano Warrior” surrounded by legends, history and curiosity. The museum showcases an incredibly rich collection of findings demonstrating that Abruzzo was a thriving region well before the Romans arrived here. Time for a free wander around the centre of Chieti and we advise you to enjoy a coffee or drink in the historic “Caffé Vittoria” under the porticoes along the Corso Marrucino and feel like you are back to the Belle Époque time. At 12.30 transfer to the “Castello di Semivicoli” part of the Masciarelli Family, producers of wines amongst the best in the world. Here visit the beautifully restored Castle, taste some of Masciarelli signature wines, the EVO oil Marina Cvetic accompanied by a selection of local products and a dish that represents Abruzzo 's culinary traditions. At the end of the tasting return to Hotel Miramare and rest of the day free to enjoy at your own leisure. Evening free for you to have dinner either at the hotel restaurant or one of the trattorias along the coast. (free taxi service available on request).

Breakfast; At 9.30am departure to the picturesque city of Vasto. The city sits high on a hill overlooking the beautiful coast, rich in history, culture and architecture and is one of the hidden gems of Italy. You will be free to wander along its cobbled streets, past its historical palaces and churches rich in amazing art ,and last but not least, indulge yourself with one of the best artisan gelato you have ever tasted. Time to head to visit the last winery on this tour producing one of the best selections of Abruzzo’s wines. Visit its cellars and taste some of their best wines accompanied by local products. Return to the Hotel Miramare, enjoy and relax by the pool. At 8.00pm good bye dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Breakfast; today will be free for you to enjoy more the beauty of this part of Abruzzo’s Coast; The hoteloffers a free shuttle service to its guests to enjoy the sandy beaches of Le Morge or some of the more elusive little pebble alcoves with incredible crystal-clear blue water. It also has a comprehensive bike hire service. In the evening the good bye dinner will conclude in Abruzzo’s style this wonderful holiday.
