6 Nights Group Tour "Mare e Monti" a Journey of discoveries between the Coast and the Majella Mountains

Arrival at Pescara Airport where your tour assistant will meet you. Private transfer to your 4* hotel accommodation overlooking the beautiful Abruzzo "Costa dei Trabocchi" and check in. Pending on time of arrival, the tour assistant will meet the group in the hotel and explain the holiday itinerary. Each participant will receive our special Passucci Travel welcome pack & gift. At 8pm dinner at the hotel restaurant, (WINE NOT INCLUDED).

Breakfast; at 9.15am meet your T/A and at 9.30am departure to visit the megalithic (cyclopean) walls of Pallano, or more accurately the walls on Monte Pallano. It's an impressive ancient fortification system dating back to the Italic/pre-Roman period (4th/5th Century B.C.), representing one of the most striking archaeological features in Abruzzo. Local legends have spun rich stories about their origin—some attributing them to giants due to the sheer size and rugged construction of the stones. The tour will continue towards the ancient town of Tornareccio, renowned for producing some of the best honey in the world. Meet one of the producers and  learn how and what makes the Tornareccio Honey so special. Short drive to visit the medieval town of Atessa and accompanied by our expert local historian you will hear all about the "Legend of Saint Leucio & the Dragon's Bone". After the visit to the Saint Leucio's impressive Cathedral, take a walk through the narrow cobbled street of the historic centre to enjoy lunch in a local restaurant serving genuine local cuisine. In the afternoon return to your accommodation and rest of the day and evening at your own leisure. 

After breakfast, you can enjoy the day at your own leisure, whether to relax by the pool, in the garden or on the private beach that the hotel makes available to its guests (extra on request and availability). Just a few steps from your hotel you can also discover the beautiful "Costa dei Trabocchi", a symbol of Abruzzo and one of the most distinctive, atmospheric and unique coastal landscapes in Italy. Its coastal pedestrianised and cycling footpath, Ciclovia dei Trabocchi, offers visitors the perfect opportunity for sightseeing, cycling, walking, beach days and cultural experiences. At 8pm dinner at the hotel restaurant (wine not included).

Breakfast; At 9.15 your T/A will meet you at the hotel reception and at 9.30 departure to discover another hidden gem in the Abruzzo's Province of Chieti, Roccascalegna famous for its dramatic castle sat on a rock spur. The first fortification was built around the 11th–12th century by the Normans as a lookout and defensive post. In later centuries, as its military role declined, the castle was gradually abandoned and fell into ruin. Restoration work in the 20th century saved it from collapse, and today it stands as one of Abruzzo’s most striking medieval landmarks, surrounded by legends and history. Accompanied by the expert guide you will enjoy a stroll along the cobbled streets of the original medieval hamlet before reaching the entrance to the castle and learn about its history and the "Ius Primae Noctis" legend. After a short journey along stunning landscapes and panoramas, you will arrive at the Roman Archaeological site of Juvanum. Originally inhabited by Italic peoples (the Carricini), it became an important center after Romanization. Take a guided tour of the site and the museum which hosts an important collection of archaeological finds. After the visit take a short drive and stop at a local agriturismo where you will enjoy a lunch, tasting a selection of cheeses, charcuterie and bread from the estate, accompanied by a glass of locally produced organic wine. In the afternoon, return to your hotel and the rest of the day and evening at your own leisure.

Today after breakfast you can enjoy the day at your own leisure. We recommend you take a 10 minute walk along the pedestrian coastal path to reach the picturesque Marina di San vito hamlet and indulge in one of the best artisan ice-creams you will ever taste. Bars and street food restaurants here offer the chance to enjoy a light lunch or typical al fresco Aperitivo. In the evening from 8 pm dinner at the hotel restaurant (wine not included).

Breakfast; at 9.15am your T/A will meet you at the hotel foyer and at 9.30 departure to the beautiful historic coastal town of Vasto. Accompanied by our expert local guide you will visit some of the most important sites of interest such as the Romanic style Cathedral of San Giuseppe, the "Neapolitan Gardens" of Palazzo D'Avalos and more. The splendid panoramic "Loggia Amblingh" deserves a special mention, a balcony nestled between the streets of the historic centre and from where visitors can enjoy truly enchanting views over the Gulf of Gold and the crystalline waters of the Coasta dei Trabocchi. Today is Vasto's weekly market, with its buzzing atmosphere and stalls where you can find that last minute holiday bargain. Early afternoon return to your hotel and the rest of the day at your own leisure. At 7.30pm a unique dining experience on the Trabocco owned by the hotel will conclude in perfet style your Mare e Monti holiday holiday experience.

Breakfast; check out and transfer to Pescara Airport and /or Train Station and departure to your home destination.
